概要：In recent years, the essence of the value of products and services (artefacts) is being redefined as the value- in-use perceived by the user when the artefact is used, rather than the high functionality and quality of the artefact itself. The technology to simulate value-in-use is expected. On the other hand, in model-based development, where design objects are modeled and simulated on a computer, there is a lack of sufficient formulation for simulating value-in-use. This seems to be due to the ambiguity of the concept of value-in- use. Based on the above, this study aims to formulate the value-in-use as a basis for computer simulation. In order to achieve this objective, this paper proposes a conceptual framework that shows the concepts and their relationships related to value in use, and a method for quantitatively calculating value in use based on this framework. The conceptual framework proposed in this study diagrammatically shows the concepts underlying value-in-use and enables quantitative evaluation of value-in-use by using the predefined concepts specified in the framework. The usefulness of the proposed framework and the method for calculating value-in-use is demonstrated by applying it to the case of portable audio equipment. The study contributes to realisation of design for value-in-use.
